The Fortress?

Psalm 31:1-5

Into Your Hand I Commit My Spirit

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.

In you, O LORD, do I take refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
in your righteousness deliver me!
Incline your ear to me;
rescue me speedily!
Be a rock of refuge for me,
a strong fortress to save me!

For you are my rock and my fortress;
and for your name's sake you lead me and guide me;
you take me out of the net they have hidden for me,
for you are my refuge.
Into your hand I commit my spirit;
you have redeemed me, O LORD, faithful God.

In you, O Lord, do I take refuge! Is this a statement that rings true in your life? Do you find your strength in the arms of Jesus Christ? I have heard a couple of sad things today that make me wonder where my trust would be if such things happened to me. So often we put our trust in the things of this world. We get on the phone to talk things out before we talk to the person who can do something about it. I want to yearn to tell Jesus Christ everything. I yearn for the day in my life when I make him the most important person for me to talk to when something happens, period. I must confess that I don’t. I know I am not the only one who struggles with this. I know I am not the only one who goes to the phone before taking my life to the throne.

God will rescue you when you make him your everything. We truly do not realize that Jesus Christ is all we need until we realize that he is all we got. Go to the throne today with the troubles of this life. Wait don't pick up the phone. Life is found on your knees...

Into your hands I commit my spirit. God has saved us. He has come down and chosen to save you from your depravity in sin. Have you given him your whole spirit? I pray that life will not be found in anything else for you except him. So often we go around the world to escape the problems of this day. Face them head on.... The answers are not found out there. There found within the bounds of giving Jesus Christ your whole spirit. We are strong when we are weak. He is calling you to commit your all to him. Do you have the courage to commit your spirit to his hands? He will be your rock, but only if you are willing...Godspeed!

PS...This is a fortress in the city of Dubrovnik, Croatia which was competed as you see it in the 14th Century.
